“Guardian Gives Back” Invite

Client: Guardian Weatlh
5x7 mailer + custom envelope

The 5x7 event invite above was designed to recruit volunteers for Guardian Wealth’s “Guardian Gives Back” event in November 2024.

When designing the invite flyer for this volunteer food drive, I focused on crafting visual elements that were light and empowering. There are common pitfalls in advocacy work of relying on imagery that centers victims in distress, which can unintentionally reinforce stereotypes or reduce individuals to their distress.

Instead of using people in need, I took a different approach by illustrating neatly packed boxes of food and pairing it with expressive typography and bright colors, emphasizing the power of organization and the tangible impact that volunteers can have by responding to the flyer. This choice keeps the visual tone optimistic, highlighting the power of participation rather than the consequences of inaction.

Design is not just about catching attention. It's about telling the right story the right way. Ethical design means being intentional about how visuals shape perception, especially when representing communities or causes.

“State of the Market” Movie Night Invitation

Client: Swan Capital
5x7 mailer

This invitation was created for Swan Capital’s “State of the Market” event, a unique client movie night that combines a market outlook presentation with a family-friendly experience.

The creative direction embraced a retro cinema theme, using nostalgic color blocking and vintage typography to reflect the theater experience.
